Outreach
SWE Phoenix members are involved in a number of outreach activities. SWE Phoenix is a sponsor of Future Cities, Arizona Region Competition (www.futurecityarizona.org/) and SWE Phoenix members also act as judges. Other regular events include STEM Night at the Ballpark.
If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, there are organizations looking for help for K-12 programs (a short list of groups can be found here). The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University SWE Section is also looking for speakers (more information here).

Upcoming Outreach Opportunities
Jan 15 and Jan 19 Future Cities Judging
The Annual Future City Competition is approaching! SWE Phoenix is the sponsor and judge for the ‘Society of Women Engineers Most Innovative Design’, and needs your help to fill 5-8 spots on our judge team. Come witness the tremendous creativity of middle school kids/future engineers and encourage their ability to dream up and plan the city of the future.
To learn more about Future Cities, you can visit the website: https://www.azfuturecity.org. You will also need to register at this website so that the FCC has you counted as a judge; you will choose to be a society judge, and use SWE as your society/organization. Please inform Suzanna when you do so. Judge registration: https://azfuturecity.org/Start/Welcome.Aspx
Involvement is in two simple steps (participation in both preferred but not required):
1) Semi-Finals: 6-8 pm Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Phoenix Burrton Barr Library, second floor.
2) Finals: 7-11:30 am Saturday January 19, 2019 on Casteel High School – 24901 S. Power Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142. There is a Judge’s Room and announcements at 7:30 am. Parking is at the garage off of Apache (the one near the business school), or at any other metered or open lot.

March 1 Westside Impact Science and Engineering Fair
Members have been invited to participate as judges in the 2019 Westside Impact Science & Engineering Fair! There will be posters, projects, and videos and you will be given a rubric to judge. The projects are created by students in grades K-8th grade.
Judges will be given a light dinner. Judging will occur on Friday March 1st from 5-8pm. If you are interested in participating, please email: ksehr@tesd.k12.az.us.
